Srinagar, February 22 (KNO) : Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Friday said that war between India and Pakistan would lead to destruction and that the solution of all issues including Kashmir issue lies in the dialogue. According to KNO, while addressing Friday gathering, Mirwaiz said that that people have been watching since past week the treatment meted out to Kashmiri students, traders, shawl weavers, and businessmen under a well planned conspiracy. This all started first from Jammu where dozens of vehicles were torched by the forces who have always been anti-Kashmir and anti-Muslims from day one. He said that the anti-Kashmir hatred later spread to other states of India where Kashmiri students, were thrashed, harassed and ironically these students were also rusticated from their respective colleges and Universities. Mirwaiz said that surprisingly, Governor of Mizoram called for the boycotting of Kashmiri products and Kashmiris while mob attacks continued unabated against Kashmiris forcing them to flee from Indian States. While condemning the assault on Kashmiris, Mirwaiz demanded safe passage of every single Kashmiri back to their home land stating if anything untoward happens to any Kashmir blame will lie on the State government of that particular state. Mirwaiz reminded the people of India how Kashmiri youth first saved non-state residents including forces personnel in the deadly deluge of 2014 while in 2008 Amarnath Land agitation, not a single Yatri or non-state resident was attacked or thrashed. Mirwaiz said that in 2016, when Kashmiri youth were being brutally killed, not even a single non-local was harmed or forced to flee. He said this was all because that Kashmiri people don’t play the politics of communal hatred or deceit and that let me make it clear that every non-local was as safe in Kashmir as the common citizen. Mirwaiz said that despite facing tough times, Kashmiri people kept its tradition of being hospitable alive. He said talking about principles of humanity, I have time and again stated that the pulpit of Jamia Masjid has and will always remain the epicentre of representing people’s issues. Mirwaiz said we believe that Kashmir issue has a history and that the people of Kashmir dont want any military solution. When the incident happened last week’s at Pulwama, every human life was precious but at the same time that Kashmiri people are being killed and booked under PSA. Isnt it the fact that Kashmir issue is a political and human dispute? Isnt it a fact that Kashmiri youth are being pushed to wall and leaving them with no choice other than to pick up arms. Mirwaiz said he has time and again stated that Kashmir has no military solution and that he has always stated that it needs a political handling. Mirwaiz said isn’t it true that Hurriyat talked to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but the new dispensation took a complete U-turn and resorted to iron-fist policy. Isn’t it true that the New Delhi forced a full generation leaving them with option other than to pick up arms? Mirwaiz said the people of India who at present talk about war and revenge, to see the reality which is that Kashmir is an internationally accepted dispute and there are agreements and resolutions and that it was not Bihar, Himachal or any other state but a disputed State divided between India and Pakistan. Mirwaiz urged people of India to understand the ground reality as Kashmir issue was not about Hurriyat. He said Hurriyat leaders are being blamed for all the trouble as the fact remains that Kashmir movement doesn’t belong to any individual or any leaders but it was peoples’ movement. Mirwaiz said he was not afraid of talking about Kashmir and he will speak the same thing that he told Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh and will continue to speak in same language. He said he was not among those who speak in different tunes in Delhi, Islamabad and Srinagar. Mirwaiz said that he would continue to advocate same thing that his late father Shaheed-e-Milat would always talk about that Kashmir issue needs to be resolved either through right to self determination or through tripartite dialogue. Mirwaiz said today it was the Kashmir’s fourth generation on roads demanding their birth right. He said if Delhi feels that by withdrawing security cover of pro-freedom leaders, we would be forced to stop talking about Kashmir issue, they were living in fool’s paradise. Mirwaiz while lauding the role of Sikh community in Punjab and Jammu especially the Khalsa Aid that helped Kashmir under duress by offering them vehicles, and lodging them in Gurduwaras and homes. He said Kashmiri people acknowledge and lauds the role played by the Sikh community. Mirwaiz also said that GoI must understand that by talking about strikes against Pakistan, starting a war, but the fact remains that war between India and Pakistan would lead to destruction in entire sub-continent as both nations are nuclear powers. Kashmiris, Mirwaiz said, doesn’t want war but a resolution of the dispute by peaceful means as history is witness that many nations even after fighting wars, had to sit on a negotiation table to hammer out a solution. Mirwaiz said the resolve of Kashmiri people was strong as ever despite offering priceless sacrifices over the past 30 years with the presence of six lakh forces deployed to muzzle the genuine dissent of Kashmiris, but they failed on all fronts. India should recall its own freedom struggle against British. Isn’t it true that Britishers had constructed huge palaces, buildings, but that failed to break the India’s struggle against them. Let me clarify to New Delhi that we don’t want any economic packages, jobs or any other developmental packages, but the only right, the right to self determination.(KNO)
